Privacy policy
These privacy terms contain useful information on how and why Brandem Baltic OÜ (hereinafter Brandem) collects, processes and shares personal data. The privacy terms are based on the General Data Protection Regulation ( GDPR).
The purpose of the privacy terms is to protect the privacy of users in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Estonia and the European Union. These privacy terms govern the processing of personal data and the use of cookies on Brandem’s website www.brandem.ee (hereinafter the Website).
The privacy terms are effective as of 25 May 2018.
Key concepts
- Personal data are data that can be used to directly or indirectly identify a natural person on the basis of various identifiers (name, personal identification code, location information, etc.), including to determine their characteristics, relationships, and affiliations.
- Users are all persons who visit Brandem’s website or social media, contact Brandem themselves (e.g. via the contact form on the website) or subscribe to Brandem’s newsletter.
- Data processing is the collection, storage and use of personal data or other operations concerning personal data for a specific purpose.
- Services include all free and paid services offered by Brandem, including the newsletter and other online materials.
Processing of personal data
By using the Website, the user consents to the processing of their data in accordance with these privacy terms.
Brandem collects the following personal data through its website and social media:
- User’s email address – collected when the user subscribes to the newsletter or submits a request for information via the contact form on the website
- Website traffic statistics – collected and analysed using Google Analytics
- Social media traffic statistics – collected and analysed through Facebook Business Manager
Brandem only collects data that it is required to collect under Estonian and European Union laws and agreements entered into, or that are necessary for providing Brandem’s products/services and improving Brandem’s marketing activities.
USE OF PERSONAL DATA
Brandem uses the personal data collected:
- To provide a service to a user, such as to communicate with the user and to send an offer.
- To send the newsletter to the user’s e-mail address with their prior consent. Brandem’s newsletter contains information about new articles, services, and recent events.
Brandem uses traffic statistics from its website and social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn) to analyse and improve the user experience and to market more effectively. Each user has the right to prohibit the processing of their data (except in cases where the relevant agreement has been previously stipulated in a contract or concluded in another written form).
TRANSMISSION OF PERSONAL DATA TO THIRD PARTIES
The third party is Brandem’s partner, who stores users’ personal data and whose product or service Brandem uses to offer its free or paid services to users.
Brandem uses third parties for its day-to-day operations who provide:
- A system for storing e-mail addresses and managing e-mails, which also allows users to invite others to subscribe to the newsletter
- Website accommodation
- Analysis of website and social media usage statistics
- Candidate management software (Teamdash recruitment software)
STORAGE AND SAFETY OF PERSONAL DATA
Brandem stores personal data for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the relevant aims or as required by law. Personal data collected through the mailing list and contact form will be stored until the user requests their deletion. Statistics on website and social media usage are stored according to the platform settings.
Brandem takes all reasonable steps to protect the personal data it manages. Only authorised persons have access to personal data and the possibility to process it. Personal data of all users are treated as confidential information.
USER RIGHTS
Users have the right at any time to request access to their data and to request their correction, supplementation, or deletion in accordance with the law. To exercise their rights, mailing list members must unsubscribe from the newsletter list using the link provided at the end of the e-mail. Other users must send a corresponding request to tere@brandem.ee.
If the user believes that their rights have been violated in the processing of their data, they have the right to contact the Data Protection Inspectorate.
Cookies
Brandem’s website and social media use cookies to provide services to the user, to analyse and improve user experience and to market more effectively. By visiting Brandem’s website and social media, the user agrees to the use of cookies as described in this policy.
A cookie is a small text file that is stored on the user’s device. Cookies are generally used to collect statistical data, taking into account users’ preferences when visiting different websites. This information is then used to measure and improve the effectiveness of the website and to carry out more effective marketing activities.
To restrict the use of cookies, users can set their preferences in their browser settings. Google Analytics can, however, also collect information on the user’s activity even without using cookies. To avoid Google Analytics from using their data, users can install a browser extension that blocks Google Analytics.

Questions about the privacy policy
Brandem reserves the right to unilaterally change the privacy terms without notice to ensure that they are compliant with the law. The latest version of the privacy terms is always available on Brandem’s website.
